Career History

~ Won the All Japan Selection Championship Freetsyle 120kg Class in amateur wrestling in 2002 & 2003 and was runner-up in the Emperor's Cup All Japan Wrestling Championship Freestyle 120kg class in both years.

~ Originally aimed to compete in the 2004 Athens Olympics but his class did not qualify. Though Hiroshi Hase was present and scouted him to join All Japan Pro-Wrestling.

~ He joined the dojo in April of 2004 and made his pro debut in October of that same year.
